Watch: Custom Royal - Hide Yourself [Premiere]

Red wine and tooth paste anyone? Perhaps a face full of flour?

A well-dressed rock'n'roll presence in the Perth live scene for a few years now, Custom Royal are one of this cities tightest and charistmatic outfits. They've toured the state on numerous occasions, and recently went for a jaunt over to the east coast, supporting the likes of Stonefield, British India and more. Their debut four-tracker Supernaut has been a killer release for the lads, and Hide Yourself is another single from it, which we're very stoked today to premiere the video clip for. It's a clip that kinda looked fun to film, but also not in some situations (tooth paste and red wine for instance, does not look like it tastes very nice). They offer some insight into its production:

"It all came together pretty ad lib. We were originally going to use the idea for another song, but changed our minds on the day. We just started shooting and hoped for the best seeing as we had no money and no idea. I think it turned out pretty good in the end! The idea we had was just to have people passing in objects, acting as the person’s hands, from either side of the screen and we just ran with it. We discovered that Cameron is amazing at holding a straight face and that Dion is sort of allergic to the blue food colouring we put in the vodka…

"I think, unlike every other video we’ve made, we weren’t trying to present ourselves in any particular way or achieve a particular style. It was all really relaxed and organic. We shot some of it in my lounge room, the Odd Fellow (a bar in Freo) and some in a mate’s pool, thanks to Matt and Alex, it came out looking dope!"

You can grab the EP via their BANDCAMP, and catch them live when they play at next weekend's State Of The Art Festival (details HERE).
