Just under a year on from the release of their debut album Hope Is A Risk, The Maggie Pills are back and rocking harder than ever, as heard on blistering new single Gold, which alongside its slick, black & white music video is premiering on Pilerats today a day ahead of release.

Opening with an ominous and engaging fuzzed out tone, Gold soon introduces restrained electric guitar strums alongside frontwoman Delfi Sorondo’s honeyed vocals… before the drums enter the mix and things kick off, with those restrained strums evolving into the addictively heavy lead riff that drives things forward and Soronodo’s delivery increases in intensity.

Speaking on the track, the band explains "'GOLD' is a recognition of the value that each of us can bring about, and how this talent is often overshadowed by the more conventional creators. We are talented, brilliant, revolutionary change makers. We are also different, weird, non-conforming, and queer; we have a different accent or a way of being that is not part of the status quo, and this brings a challenge that we will always face.

GOLD invites us to dance frantically and to let our beautiful chaos come out without impositions or conditions. Being different and true to ourselves can be painful and isolating, but we believe that it is the most valuable thing we can give out to the world."

Gold comes alongside a gorgeous music video, directed/filmed by Venezuelan visual director Diego Homez and edited by Viva Nada Records. Shot on location in a ghost mining town in the outskirts of Santiago de Chile, the video contrasts this stark desolation with the bustling frantic nature of a Latin American metropolis and features some glowing hula hoop action.

The Maggie Pills will be hitting the road in support of Gold with a run of Victorian shows - all dates below, and dig into Gold a day ahead of release!
