Get around Perth six-piece Reef and the Riff Raff ahead of their album launch tonight

The dynamic six-piece have crafted a fantastic LP.

With plans to release three albums over the next 12 months, up and coming six-piece Reef and the Riff Raff are setting themselves to charge out of 2016 with a full head of steam. The experimental outfit from Perth's inner suburbs have been jamming and gigging for the past year, and today they release their captivating, debut full-length. Initially a solo project for frontman Reef Selleck, Reef and the Riff Raff rapidly grew from a one man band into a dynamic six-piece after several chance meetings with like minded musos at gigs and house parties around Perth. A self-proclaimed 'jam band', RATRR's diverse 12-track effort explores surf-rock, psych-rock, garage and folk moments, with no two songs sounding truly alike. Selleck's vocal, a Jim Morrison-esque drawl, is perfectly partnered by the sublime voices of keyboardist Lana Rothnie and French sensation Sara Guyot; with the three vocalists creating layers for fans to strip back with each new listen. Reef and the Riff Raff are also doing their bit for the local art scene; enlisting the talents of a different Perth artist for each single they've released, along with the album art itself, with a plan to continue shining a light on talented Perth artists over their next two records.

You can catch Reef and the Riff Raff launching their incredible debut album at Babushka in Leederville tonight. The event begins with an art exhibition, showcasing the works of Alexjustspat and Fran Dankert who designed the mind-blowing cover art for RATRR's record, before support from Fuzz Toads, Moonlighter and Michael Dunstan.
